Community
Our sense of community is the common thread that binds us together. The comaraderie and devotion to a better future for our students reaches from township to township across the South Shore District. It is what helps us all to stay inspired to do all of the good we can, in all of the ways we can.

The South Shore School District is pleased to announce the success of its $14.75 million facilities referendum, with unofficial results indicating 58% voter approval. This investment will address critical needs, including updates to heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems; construction of a secure entrance; expansion of classroom spaces and the fitness center; and ADA-compliant renovations.
On August 21, the South Shore School District Board unanimously adopted a resolution that will allow district residents to vote on a $14.75 million facilities referendum this November. The comprehensive plan is designed to ensure that our school continues to offer high-quality education in a safe and efficient setting, supporting both current students and future generations by addressing critical capital maintenance needs, enhancing safety and accessibility, and providing an updated learning environment for our students.
During the month of March, South Shore will be engaged in fun activities to inspire our students' love of reading. Our goal is to have the 4K-6th grade students read a combined total of 10,000 minutes by March 27th!
Over the past month, a large group of stakeholders within our community have dedicated multiple hours of their time over three workgroup meetings dedicated to future planning at South Shore.
Congratulations to our cross country team who all ran GREAT at the Solon Springs Conference Championship meet! We would like to give a special shoutout to our freshman runner Sophie Truchon, who is now the Northern Lights Conference CHAMPION!
